Wooli / 無理 / 우리 is an avant-garde folk duo featuring Taiwanese Pipa player Fan-Qi Wu and Norwegian drummer Michael Lee Sørenmo.

Inspired by East Asian traditional and folk music, Wooli merges ancient melodies with modern improvisation. Fan-Qi Wu’s Pipa creates delicate, expressive tones, while Michael Lee Sørenmo’s drumming adds dynamic, unpredictable rhythms drawn from free jazz. Their collaboration results in a sound that weaves traditional Asian music with the spontaneity of free jazz, offering a unique auditory experience that transcends boundaries and challenges musical conventions.
